The lead figure in a very large, global, scaleable, centralised function that would look to take the banks applications, residing on approximately 40,000 systems from their current state onto a virtualised environment. This also included Infrastructure, Storage, Backups, Disaster Recovery and Data Centre exits. (ie. reduce the number of Data Centres from 20 to 6 globally)
Took a high level vision and created the architecture to achieve this. Proceeded to put in place new teams in global regions, to run the various components of the new process. The teams included Initial Discovery & Analysis, Runbook Command Control Centre, Change Management, Resourcing, Reporting & Metrics, Compliance & Regulatory. The resourcing profile was 70% offshore to keep costs down, and key pivotal resources being local in each global region. Reporting to Director Level stakeholders.
Management of a number of programmes consisting of full lifecycle projects for the Energy sector to satisfy Regulatory Requirements for British Gas. Based on the Software Development of their large SAP ISU platform, and delivered via regular SAP Release schedules. Adhering to the mandated timescales of the Industry Regulatory for delivery to ensure Compliance. Liaising with System Architects, Development teams, Third Party vendors & outsourced organisations, Senior Stakeholders from the Business and managing local & offshore resources. Ensuring Business Readiness, management of Risks, Budget, Planning, Reporting, Go-no-go decisions, Change Management, etc.
Responsible for Global Infrastructure & Delivery of SAP Programmes within BP’s ‘Global Mega Data Centres’ across EMEA. High Profile and Business Strategic programme for BP. Upgrade of BP SAP based services, relating to Procurement, Finance and HR. Management of Project Managers, Technical teams, Developers, SAP Basis teams, Subject Matter Experts, DBAs, etc. Direct client facing, reporting to the BP board, adhering to industry recognised ‘CVP Process’ and strict Change Management processes throughout the lifecycle.
Managing all aspects of the Global Rollout of the ITIL aligned BMC Remedy Service Desk & IT Service Management solution. Involved in the initial vendor selection process right through to roll out and post GoLive support. Including Service Mgmt, Problem Mgmt & Change Mgmt. Planning and implementation of the global helpdesk processes and resolver groups with a rigid Change Control function to ensure quality was in place, in order to fulfil the Unilever vision of a Positive User Experience. Reporting to Director of Innovation within Unilever.

Royal Saudi Air Force: Brought in to Rescue an ailing programme for this prestigious client in the Middle East. Managed to turn it into a success, and delivered the Air Force their BMC based IT Service Desk, Service Support, Automation and Assurance services. Including data modelling of their specific Command Control & Communications equipment (C4i). Built a local team from scratch using international resources and delivered the solution to their Head Quarters and 7 of their Air Bases.
Aramco: Finalised the delivery of a delayed programme for the Largest Oil Company in the World. Working with very tight timelines, a disgruntled client and managed to deliver a functional IT Service Mgmt solution and centralised CMDB for their IT Asset Mgmt. Ensuring Operational Readiness, Post GoLive Support and escalation services where required. Restored corporate confidence with the client.
Abu Dahbi Ground Forces Military: Scoping and Preparation of a Statement of Work for new business for a complete IT Service Mgmt & IT Asset Mgmt & CMDB solution.
Mobily Telecom: Preparing a bid and Statement of Work for the first Private Cloud in the region. Scoping, high level planning and pricing. Also finalised previous project activities.
Large scale Transformation project. Full lifecycle deployment of Performance & Integration Environments for Nokia’s new E-commerce service lines (to compete with Apples iStore).
Rescued a disaster of a programme for T-Systems first ‘SAP Dynamic’ client, Centrica. Already over budget, delayed and about to miss another key milestone. Required to migrate existing SAP instances from the UK to Twin-Core datacentres in Berlin & Munich, Germany. Management of Project Managers, UK teams, German Teams and Technical resources. Planning and 3rd Party Vendor management to implement new WAN infrastructure for high speed UK to Germany datacentre connectivity. Successful Business Readiness, Service Transition and handover to Operations. (Two months after leaving was invited back for the team and client party celebration).
Management of the Faster Payment Service programme for the Infrastructure Delivery, to the client APACS, and the Bank of England. Conforming to Regulation and Compliance Legislation.
Migration / Consolidation of BTs Billing & Payment Services to Virtualised, in their DataCentres.
